Even if a school already holds a license covering most of the major Hollywood studios, it is important to be aware that multiple licenses are required to ensure broad motion picture copyright compliance. The Umbrella License for Schools provides annual copyright coverage for 20th Century Fox, DreamWorks Animation, and more than 1,000 educational, children’s, documentary, foreign, and specialty producers including Scholastic Entertainment, History Channel, Discovery Channel, HIT Entertainment, and many more!
In addition, with the Umbrella License, schools gain copyright coverage for high quality Spanish-language motion pictures from EGEDA, a non-profit association and collection society representing hundreds of Spanish and Latin American producers.
Want to show favorites like Kung Fu Panda 3, Ice Age: Collision Course, Mr. Peabody and Sherman or The Sound of Music as a special treat? Secure the Umbrella License.

To verify if a specific motion picture or audiovisual program is covered under the Umbrella License, you may wish to consult the Internet Movie Database website at www.IMDb.com. Simply search for the title you wish to screen and click on your selection. Scroll down to the “company credits” section of the page. Click on “see more.” On the company credits page review the “distributors.” Look for the USA “theatrical” or “all media” distributor. If the USA distributor is listed on the Umbrella License Producer List for schools, the title is covered under your license.
The Umbrella License provides coverage for all programs produced by DreamWorks Animation. If DreamWorks Animation is listed on the IMDb company credits page under “production companies,” the program is covered under the Umbrella License.
